Description
A hurling pen holder in the Limerick colours. Hurling is one of the oldest and fastest field games in the world. Two teams of 15 pit their skills, strength and wits against each other to score goals and points at opposite ends of the field. The action is fast and often furious. Surnames like Ring, Mackey, Rackard and Doyle bring reactions from old timers. If you mention Lohan, Canning, Shefflin, Carey or O’Donnell to a younger generation you will get appreciative nods and a conversation will ensue.
This is a Pen Holder wiith a Hurley (Hurl) and Ball (Sliotar). made from wood, with two slots for pens.
The piece measures 3.5 inches (9 cm) by 2 1/2 inches (6.5cm) wide.
The Pen Holders can be used to represent either Club or County – the Green & White colours are popular among club teams as well as county teams.
