This beautiful Sterling Silver St. Brigid’s Cross Necklace celebrates St. Brigid, the beloved female patron saint of Ireland. A woman of courage and compassion, she lived around the same time as St. Patrick, founding her own abbey and bringing many to Christianity through her kindness and strength.
Legend tells that as her father lay dying, Brigid wove a cross from rushes found on the floor to explain her faith and baptise him. That humble woven cross became a cherished Irish symbol of faith, protection, and good fortune. To this day, on St. Brigid’s Day (February 1st), Irish children and families weave crosses from rushes and hang them over doorways to bless the home for the year ahead.
